At TXTFIRE PH, we believe in "Privacy by Design." Our app is built to facilitate emergency response without collecting unnecessary personal information.
1. Passwordless Authentication
We do not collect or store emails or passwords. Access to the app is managed via One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your mobile number. This ensures:
- Your mobile identity is verified for legitimate reporting.
- Dispatchers can quickly call you back for critical incident details.
- You never have to worry about a compromised password.
2. Location Data & Anonymity
Your privacy is protected through strict data isolation:
- Report-Linked Only: Location data is only collected and stored when you actively submit an emergency report.
- No User-Tracking: We do not link your daily movements or historical location data to your personal profile. Your location is used solely to pinpoint the incident site on our Live Map.
3. Blood Buddy Portal
To support the community while maintaining privacy, we only collect the following for the Blood Buddy feature:
- Donation Count: To recognize your contribution to the community.
- Donation Dates: To ensure you are eligible for your next donation based on medical safety intervals.
4. Information Sharing
Information provided in a fire or medical report (location, photos, and incident type) is shared immediately with verified TXTFIRE dispatchers and Volunteer Fire Brigades to facilitate a rapid response. We do not share your mobile number with the general public map.
"We built this app to save lives, not to harvest data. By using OTP and incident-only location tracking, we ensure the focus stays on the emergency at hand."
